Inco Steel Buildings, Inc installs the foundation, not the customer.
Inco Building Foundations are Designed by Structural Engineers
Inco Steel Buildings, Inc installs the foundation, not the customer. Foundations require professional installation. We provide turnkey foundation systems designed by structural engineers, which include monolithic slabs with concrete footings and concrete piers.
A third-party structural engineer licensed in the State of North Carolina designs and seals every foundation for all Inco Steel Buildings. Metal buildings in North Carolina need to be designed according to the county in which they will be located, and other critical factors.
Foundation installation is Never the responsibility of the Customer. Inco is the Foundation Installer
Professional installation is required for all foundation types
Inco never asks its customers to perform work that should be performed by a licensed professional, such as concrete footings or monolithic slab concrete foundations.
Foundation Engineering
Structural Foundation Engineer
As required by the metal building steel manufacturer and state building codes, Inco metal buildings have an engineer Designed and Sealed concrete foundation system.
For our engineered foundations, Inco Steel Buildings uses either pier foundations or monolithic slabs with integral steel-reinforced footings, and for our slabs, we use steel wire mesh, steel hairpin rod ties, and tied steel rebar grids.
Foundation Engineers design concrete foundations with a slab, or without a slab.
When designed by the foundation engineer, Inco Steel Buildings offers concrete foundations with a slab, or without a slab. Customers can request the system for their building; concrete slabs are most common, but are not always required in steel building construction; earth or compacted stone aggregates can be used for the building floor area instead of concrete slab.
Concrete must Support Inco Steel Buildings
Dirt or Slabs Without Footings will Not Support Inco Steel Buildings
Under most circumstances, foundation engineers do not permit old, existing slabs for terraces or patios to support most metal buildings, wood frame buildings, concrete masonry frame buildings or other building types. A footing system is not typically included with existing slabs as described. Inco steel buildings cannot be supported by old patio or terrace slabs without major cutting and footing system installation, if possible.
Inco building engineers require concrete footings or piers for the steel frame to bear upon. A solid concrete foundation is the basis for Inco Steel Buildings, which can be built with an integral slab, floating slab, or without a slab.
Soil Mechanics & Geotechnical Engineering
Avoid Expensive Foundation Problems, especially when constructing metal buildings on clay soil, which occurs throughout North Carolina. To build a durable and trouble-free building, it is crucial to understand foundations, all of their types, and their suitability. Hire Inco Steel Buildings for a turn-key metal building with foundation that is backed by a written warranty.
Foundation design requires an understanding of soil properties (type, bearing capacity, moisture content). During structural analysis, structural engineers measure the type and magnitude of loads the structure will encounter (gravity, wind, seismic, etc.).
